A daydream we often slip into, the California native tapped into a very relatable topic when she sat down to write. “Anyone stuck in traffic on their way to work can relate to wanting to play hooky and do something else,” Marie shared with us. “For me, that something else is going to the beach. I may have played hooky and done that before, driving up and down the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, blasting Tom Pettys’ “Free-falling” with my windows down; there is nothing like it.” It was these experiences that served as the catalyst for the new tune.
When not on the beach, fans can find Marie downtown Nashville where she’s a favorite performer at the legendary Tootsie’s which bumps up to the historic Ryman Auditorium where she has also graced the stage. A consummate performer, Marie has opened for stars like LeAnn Rimes, Brad Paisley, Zac Brown Band and Darius Rucker.
